LoginI love tapestry for many reasons. First, you can start small. Tapestries don’t have to be big—you can weave up tiny pieces for practice, as bracelets, or for small wall hangings. Second, tapestries are a great way to explore color, shape, and texture in weaving. Finally, you need almost nothing to start: A weaving frame and some yarns are all you need to start creating.
Once you get started weaving tapestry, there are so many directions you can go: abstract, geometric, realistic, or textural pieces are all excellent in their ways. Of course, figuring out where to start can be difficult, so we’ve created this tapestry basics skill guide to get you going.
