LoginBring a bit of the Southwest into your home with this landscape woven on a rigid-heddle loom using clasped-weft and other tapestry techniques.
“Home Means Nevada” is the state song for Nevada, Amy’s new residence since moving to Reno not long ago. Inspired by a landscape filled with watercolor-esque mountains as far as the eye can see and dotted with sagebrush and other desert plant life, Amy was able to bring her daily inspiration to the loom. Clasped weft forms the desert floor and sky, while tapestry techniques give the freedom needed to make the curved mountains. Try not to get too bogged down in the numbers provided for the clasped weft and, instead, go with the flow and do what feels and looks right as you weave.
