Getting Into Inlay

An easy way to take your weaving to the next level is by using multiple wefts to create designs. Inlay is one such technique. It allows you to introduce a pattern weft on top of a ground weft of plain weave.

Best of all, this technique is not complicated—it takes only a little more effort than plain weave. Here’s a basic primer on how to do inlay and several patterns to inspire your texture explorations.
