Do scarves imitate life? This scarf of peaks and valleys, created by clasping both warp and weft, beautifully reflects the ebb and flow of daily rhythms.

Weaving with clasped yarns creates a fabric in which a single end or pick will be completed by looping two (or even more) yarns together. Clasping yarns add dimension to an otherwise simple plain-weave fabric, and the result can be distinctly different color or designs on either side. Taking inspiration from the Colorado foothills for her scarf, Anu planned a freeform design of peaks and valleys. The weave structure combines clasping of yarns both ways—warpwise and weftwise.
