LoginThe sturdiness of rep weave gives strength and body to this colorful messenger-style bag that will serve you well while also completing your look. Learn to weave rep using the rigid heddle to change sheds and a weaving sword to pack your weft.
Rep weaving is a fun technique that yields many wonderful results. For this project, Sara wanted to make rep weave accessible to the rigid- heddle weaver. This bag requires only one heddle but brings in some traditional tapestry and inkle loom tools, using them in a new way. The weft is not packed with the heddle, which takes a little getting used to, but once you get in the rhythm, it’s fast and fun to weave!
