Did you know that you don’t need an inkle loom to weave great bands? It’s true! While talking with Deb Essen a while back, I learned that she prefers to tablet-weave bands on her rigid-heddle loom. I didn’t even realize that was a possibility at the time, but now it makes complete sense. And, of course, there’s always the option to use a backstrap setup so you can take your weaving just about anywhere. All you really need is a way to anchor your warp to keep proper tension and make a shed. One of the ways you can make a shed is by using a rigid heddle.
Some of you reading might be familiar with the fabulous intro to the bandweaving video Backstrap Rigid Heddle Basics with Katie Larson (and if not, you can find the free video here). If that video left you inspired to give weaving bands with a rigid heddle a try, with or without an inkle loom, have I got an eBook for you! It was a Spin-Off exclusive, but I’m super-excited to share the new Bandweaving Using Rigid Heddles and Inkle Looms eBook with our All Access subscribers. (Not an All Access subscriber?
