Previously I wrote about using Easy Weaving with Little Looms as the basis for weaving Halloween costumes, but that got me thinking: What about décor and other household items? As it turns out, you can absolutely use Little Looms to get your house ready for Halloween or any other fall festivity you have in mind.

First up we have Deborah Bagley’s Pin-Loom Pumpkin Patch from the Fall 2024 issue and shown in the photo above. These cute little pumpkins can be woven in a solid or gingham pattern. Weave them as written or have fun playing with colors.

Charlotte’s Bands by Sara C. BixlerCharlotte’s Bands by Sara C. Bixler.

Second is Sara C. Bixler’s inkle-woven Charlotte’s Bands from Winter 2022. While these were inspired by the decidedly not spooky book Charolotte’s Web, I think these bookmarks would be right at home in a copy of Dracula or another similarly scary read.

Arachne Napkins by Elisabeth Hill.

Speaking of spiders, next up are Elisabeth Hill’s spectacular Arachne Napkins from Winter 2023. These gorgeous golden napkins can be woven to feature either a giant spider or web using a single 12-dent heddle and pick-up stick. (Not into spiders? Elisabeth also has instructions for weaving a sweet heart instead.)

Spring into Summer Wreath by Margaret StumpSpring into Summer Wreath by Margaret Stump.

For the next two projects on the list you’ll need to be a little creative in the color department. For example, Margaret Stump’s Spring into Summer Wreath from Spring 2022 could easily be made into a perfect autumnal door decoration with a few color swaps. You could exchange the pastel pink for an orange and then weave the pastel yellow sunflower in a burgundy. Make the leaves a darker green—or even fall foliage colors—and you’ve got yourself a fall wreath.

Kitty Cat by Deborah Bagley. Photo by George Boe

Finally, we’ve got Deborah Bagley’s Kitty Cat from Zoo Crew. While it’s technically not a Little Looms project, it is Little Looms–adjacent. As somebody who grew up with a black cat as a family pet, I couldn’t not suggest weaving this pin-loom kitty in black. As a bonus, if you know a little one going as a witch for Halloween, we can’t think of a better accessory.

So there you have it! Five fun projects to decorate your home for Halloween. If you want to check out these projects today, Little Looms subscribers can find all back issues in our Little Looms Library and All Access Subscribers can access the PDFs for each of the Little Looms projects and the full Zoo Crew eBook in the same place.

Happy Weaving!
